Foul Trouble Costs Union Men's Basketball in Loss to Third Ranked Suffolk

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Union men's basketball team lost to third ranked Suffolk by a score of 101-97 in the first game of the Mercer Mixer weekend tournament.  It was a back and forth game from tipoff to the final buzzer.  Union went in to halftime down two points, but foul trouble caught up to the Owls down the stretch in the four point loss.

Sophomore Nyquan McCombs (Staten Island, NY) led Union in scoring with 33 points.  Sophomore Derek Booker (Bayonne, NJ) and freshman Tyheem Burno (Jersey City, NJ) each chipped in 27 points and 14 points respectively in the defeat.

With the loss the Owls record falls to 3-2 on the season.  Union men's basketball returns to the court for day two of the Mercer Mixer tournament on Sunday, November 18 at 2:00 pm.  They will take on the home team Mercer County looking to go home with a win.
