3 Teams Clinch National Bids and Reach Regional Championship Matches

Regionals Recap: 

  

Fortnite No Build: 

The Fortnite team opened up the NJCAAE East Regional Playoffs against Johnston Community College. The Owls dropped the first game in the best of five series losing 2-1. In game 2 it was all Union winning the series 25-7. Johnston put up a fight in game 3 but still lost the series to the Owls 17-8.  The Owls did not let the opportunity slip away and clinched the series in game 4 winning 10-2. The Owls clinched their spot in the National tournament and will play be playing Jackson College for the Region Championship on December 2nd.  

Call of Duty Gunfight: 

The Call of Duty Gunfight team opened the NJCAAE Reginal Playoffs against Hawkeye Community College. The Owls took care of action against Hawkeye Community College by winning the series 3-0. The Owls didn’t struggle much, winning the series by a total of 18 maps to 1. The Owls clinched their birth in the National Postseason and will play Pensacola State College in the Regional Finals on December 5th. 

Mario Kart 1 vs 1:  

Santiago Puerto found himself in a gauntlet in the NJCAAE Regional Playoffs. Santi had to play his way through three matches in one night. To start the night Santi defeated Iowa Western Community College 4-0. In round 2 Santi took on Lorrain County Community College and defeated them 4-1. In the winner’s final Santi the 2 seed took on the 1 seed Marshalltown Community College and swept them 4-0. Santiago punched his ticket to the National playoffs as well as to the Regional Grand Finals which he will play on December 5th.  

Rocket League:  

The UCNJ Owls Rocket League Team entered the Regional Postseason as the 7th seed. In their first matchup the Owls were up against perennial powerhouse the 2nd seed Lackawanna College. The Owls didn’t fare well against the falcons as they fell to Lackawanna College 3-0. In the Loser’s bracket the Owls faced off against Madison College and lost 3-1. The two losses end the Owls Fall Campaign as they look to retool for the Spring Semester.
