During her time in high school, Coach Maura became a 2016 Red Division Champion and 2016 GMC runner-ups. After her high school season ended, she decided to commit her next four years to Saint Elizabeth University to study Criminal Justice, with a minor in psychology and victim services.

During her time at Saint Elizabeth, Maura was setting and playing opposite. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, she did not get to play her senior year. In college, she added more to her allocades including 2017-18 Most Valuable Player Award, 2017 Sportsmanship of the Year Award, 2018 NEAC Student Athlete Spotlight, 2019 Coaches Award, and numerous “Athlete of the Week” during her career.

While playing in college, Coach Maura loved the sport so much she wanted to pass her passion on to other players. Coach Maura started coaching youth programs on her off time and found the excitement and passion for coaching. She has been coaching for over 7 years now coaching at; CJVA, GSEV, and Impact Volleyball... going back to her roots. Finally, she decided it was time to move her volleyball knowledge to the collegiate level at Union College of Union County, NJ. This year is her first season at Union and she is very excited to share her love & passion for the sport she had not only played, but studied for years. Maura is excited for this season at Union College because it will be the turning point for the program. Coach Maura commented “I have high expectations on the court and in the classroom. These young ladies have the talent and the drive to win any challenge in front of them, the only thing that will stand in their way is themselves.”

When asked for a quote, she gave two:

“Practice how you play, and play how you know, and all the pieces will fall into place.”

“Do the extra set, do the extra rep, wake up early and go for the run. Because the only person you're competing with is yourself.”

Welcome to the team Coach Maura! GO OWLS!!
