Cranford, NJ - Last week, an exciting moment for Union College of Union County New Jersey and UCNJ Athletics unfolded during a special event where UCNJ golf alumnus Patrick Murray was honored with his championship ring. The event celebrated an incredible milestone in Patrick’s career, one that highlights his great talent and dedication to the sport. Over the course of two unforgettable seasons, Patrick achieved extraordinary success, leaving an indelible mark on the UCNJ golf program.

Patrick’s historic journey includes winning both the National Junior Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Championship and the Garden State Athletic (GSAC) Championship in back-to-back years. His performances on the green earned him a spot in the National Junior Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Golf National Championships in his freshman and sophomore year.

In his first year at nationals, he placed an impressive 18th, but it was his second year that solidified his status as one of the top golfers in the country, securing 7th place in the National Junior Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Golf National Championships. Also earning All-American honors in 2023 and 2024.

UCNJ Athletics held a special Champion Ring Reveal event on Friday, November 22, to honor Patrick Murray. Coached by UCNJ professor and Head Coach, Marc Postiglione. The event took place in the Richel Student Commons on the Cranford campus, where Patrick was presented with his championship ring in recognition of his achievements.

Since graduating from UCNJ, Patrick has continued to build on his success. He is now attending Kean University. His achievements represent the hard work, dedication, and competitive spirit that Patrick brought to the UCNJ golf program. His performance has left a legacy that will inspire future UCNJ golfers for years to come. UCNJ Athletics will forever celebrate Patrick’s outstanding accomplishments, and we look forward to seeing what he will achieve next!
