Women's Basketball Season Ends in East B District Final
SANBORN, NY - The Monroe Community College women's basketball team faced a tough opponent in the NJCAA East B District Final, as they took on Union Colleg (NJ) in a game that ended in a 115-53 defeat.
From the outset, it was clear that UCNJ came prepared. They jumped to a sizable 30-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, fueled by a balanced offensive attack. While Monroe struggled to find their footing early on, Serenity Henderson led the effort for the Tribunes, finishing the game with 24 points and showcasing her offensive skill on the court.
Zarriah Eldridge and Skylah Kemp had notable moments, scoring 12 and 11 points.
Despite the scoreline, the Tribunes didn't back down. The team fought hard throughout the game, with Shania Estrich grabbing 8 rebounds and providing much-needed energy on the floor. Any time UCNJ seemed to pull away, Monroe showed flashes of resilience and determination, aiming to find open shots and play aggressive defense.
The game marked a tough chapter for Monroe Community College, which now holds a record of 16-14 for the season. Looking ahead, Sanntino Cinotti (23-35) will return for his third season as head coach of the Tribunes Women's Basketball Program.
