Brookdale Baseball Grabs Double Wins At Union

Cranford, NJ - Brookdale baseball improved their record to 25-5 after grabbing two wins against the Union College Owls at Kean University, 12-3, 12-0.

Sophomore, Tyler Spencer (6-1) pitched all 7.0 innings to add another win on the mound with seven strikeouts in the game-one 12-3 win. Sophomore catcher, Shane Andrus, batted 2-for-3 with a triple for four massive RBI's. Freshman shortstop, Justin Lopez, connected for two doubles for two RBI's in his 2-for-2 at bats, and freshman right fielder, Casey Gardiner, added a double as well in 3-for-4 at bats for two RBI's. 

The Blues shut out the Owls in game-two, 12-0, with sophomore pitcher, Christian Simonsen, throwing for 6.0 innings, allowing just six hits with six strikeouts to improve his record to 4-0. Freshman center fielder, Declan Sheehan, earned three RBI's from his 1-for-1 at bats to lead the Blues. Hitting a perfect 5-for-5 with two doubles for two RBI's again was Justin Lopez. DH Shane Andrus picked up another two RBI's off of his double and freshman catcher, Jackson Stoll, belted in two RBI's off of his 3-for-4 at bats. 

Brookdale will finish their three-game series with Union College in a single game at home on Saturday, April 12th, beginning at 3:00pm.
