Jayhawks Downed by No. 14 Union County

JAMESTOWN - Playing their third game in as many days, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team fell to No. 14 Union County College Sunday afternoon, 87-54.

 

The Jayhawks were paced by forward Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) with 16 points with guard Jessica Beehler (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) adding 12 points. Guard Kymi Nance (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) chipped in with 11 points. Guard Destiny Evans (Peoria, IL/Lorain HS) was a monster on the glass, grabbing a game-high 16 rebounds (5 offense, 11 defense).

 

JCC went 19-for-54 (35.2 percent) from the floor while the Owls went 33-for-85 (38.8 percent) from the field. The Jayhawks held the slight edge on the boards, grabbing 51 rebounds to the Owls' 48. Union County took advantage of their extra offensive opportunities, scoring 22 second chance points with the Jayhawks scored 12 second chance points.

 

The Jayhawks will go back on the road as they travel to No. 1 Lakeland Community College on Wednesday, November 17th, for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
