Cranford, NJ - The Jersey Blues men's soccer team captured a win from the Union County College Owls on their home turf with a 2-0 final.
The Blues came out hot, scoring an early goal in the first 10 minutes of the game, but to dismay, the goal was disallowed. Brookdale kept the momentum going when six minutes later, sophomore midfielder, Gabriel Vieira, put a ball past the defense for forward freshman, Liam Stewart, to smash it into the back of the net. After another 10 minutes on the clock, the same duo combined for the Blues 2nd goal with an almost identical run of play.
The Blues went into halftime with a 2-0 advantage, but the 2nd half brought a much more open game with a lot of chances for both teams to advance. Brookdale held their ground and went home with the,"W."
The Brookdale men (5-3-1) will attempt to continue their momentum on their road game to play the Mercer County Community College Vikings on Thursday, October, 7th, at 3:30pm.
