UCNJ Women’s Soccer Secures First Win of the Season
Cranford, NJ:

The UCNJ Women’s Soccer team celebrated a thrilling first victory of the season with an explosive 7-2 win, led by an outstanding performance from forward Christi Mendoza. UCNJ's freshman #9 Christi Mendoza found the back of the net an incredible five times, setting the pace for a dominant UCNJ offense.

Christi Mendoza’s goal-scoring spree was complemented by sophomore #8 Kayal Cabrera, who added two goals of her own. Cabrera’s second goal was particularly special, as it came from a beautiful assist by her sister, freshman #7 Isabella Cabrera, showcasing their chemistry on the field.

The victory was a true team effort, as all 19 players on the UCNJ roster saw action, contributing to the win. Freshman #1 Marisa Hill was named GSCA Player of the Week this week. Hill was instrumental, making several key saves to keep the opponents at bay. Hill’s impact extended beyond her goalkeeping, as she connected with Mendoza on a long ball, earning an assist from her position in goal.

This all-around team performance sets a strong tone for the season, with the UCNJ women showing depth, resilience, and firepower in their first win.
