Owls Win 2-1 on the Road Against Brookdale Community College

Cranford - The Owls kicked off their season with an away game at Brookdale Community College, where they nearly took an early lead following a defensive mistake that sent Theo Hamadallah through on goal, only for the Brookdale goalkeeper to make a crucial save. Despite conceding an early penalty, goalkeeper #1 Tomas Velasquez Ospina (sophomore), kept the score level with a fantastic save.

Eventually, persistent Brookdale pressure led to the Owls falling behind 1-0 in the first half. The score remained unchanged until the final 20 minutes of the match. #10 Tomas Matthews (sophomore) sent a long ball to #29 Diego Diaz (freshman), cutting it back to #9 Jayson Freeman (sophomore). Freeman then delivered a perfectly timed pass to #17 Pablo Corte (freshman), who slotted it into the bottom right for the equalizer. The Owls’ momentum continued to build, and a handball in the Brookdale box resulted in a penalty, which Diaz calmly converted as the Owls secured a hard-fought comeback victory against Brookdale Community College.
