Owls Soar: Union College Women's Basketball Dominates Season Opener with a 120-30 Victory over Monroe Express

In a dominating display of skill and teamwork, Union College's Women's Basketball secured a resounding victory in their season opener on Saturday, November 11, 2023, against the Monroe Express. The Owls showcased their relentless prowess, overwhelming Monroe with a final score of 120 to 30. The game's tone was set early as Union surged ahead in the first quarter, outscoring Monroe 34 to 0. 

Freshman Jaslin Walker made an immediate impact off the bench, leading all scorers with an impressive 20 points, in addition to contributing 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 steals. Meanwhile, sophomore Khila Morris continued her stellar performance from the previous season, achieving a remarkable triple-double with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 10 steals, and 11 assists.

The depth of Union's talent was evident, with multiple players making significant contributions. Miyoshi Ellis added 8 points and 8 steals, Ahjanae Young chipped in 12 points, 3 steals, and 2 assists, and Amyah Mars contributed 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 assists. Aleah James provided valuable support off the bench, scoring 15 points while contributing 4 assists and 4 steals. Ashley Rojas rounded off the impressive list of double-digit scorers with 11 points, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds.
