Union County Freeholders Recognize Women's Volleyball Team

In a span of two seasons, the women's volleyball team has improved their record from 4-14 to an amazing 12-5 record, but their success didn't come easy.  The volleyball team put in intense sessions throughout pre-season to get themselves operating as a cohesive unit.  The 2013 season is a result of the accomplishments they set out to do, and that was to earn the title of Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Champion.

The Lady Owls started off the season strong with a 5-2 record and kept the momentum alive throughout the month of October.  Evidence of their hard work and determination came when the team was ranked #1 in the country for a Hitting Percentage of 2.017.

On October 8th, the Lady Owls clinched the title of GSAC Champions when they defeated Atlantic Cape in three straight sets, 25-29, 25-22, 25-26.  The Lady Owls were recently named GSAC Champions in 2008 and 2010.  On Thursday, January 23rd, the Union County Freeholders honored the Women's Volleyball team for their outstanding season and being named 2013 GSAC Champions.
