Track & Field Already On Thier Way To Nationals

On Sat. Mar. 22, 2014, six members of Union County College's Track & Field team qualified for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) nationals. The athletes competed at the Wagner College Invite to qualify for nationals. In addition, they went on to win their first series of events at a track and field invitational outside of NJCAA.

For the Men's team, Samard Walker came in 1st overall in the Men's Shot Put at Wagner, with distance of 15.49 m (50 ft. 9 in.) and also took 10th place overall in the discus with a distance of 37.16m (131 ft. 9 in.). The Men's 4x100 team, comprised of Immanuel Edobi, Shane King, Marc Desir, and Ed Kosso, came in with a time of 45.00 seconds. Marc Desir also competed in the Men's 400 Hurdles and took 1st place with a time of 56.84 seconds.

For the Women's team, Tamoya Brown took 2nd place overall in the 400 Hurdle with a time of 1:12.76 and 6th place overall in the 100 Hurdle at 17.23 seconds.
