Union Women's Soccer Offense Explodes for Second Win of the Season

LAPLATA, MD - The Union women's soccer team cruised to an 8-1 victory over the College of Southern Maryland.

Sophomore Paige Junior got the Owls on the scoreboard first and had two goals on the afternoon.  Freshman Victoria Fernandez added one goal and one assist as did fellow freshman Jillian Antoniewicz.  Lindsay Wielgus, Sara Antunes and Yeraldyn Maduro-Gomez also found the back of the net once a piece.  Sophomore goalkeeper Destine Alarcon turned away two Hawks shots.

The win improves the Owls record to 2-0 on the season.  Union is next in action on Saturday, September 7 when they travel to Vineland, NJ to take on Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland at 12:00 pm.
