Union Women's Soccer Player Maya Lawler Becomes 2x All American; First Team Honoree This Season

CRANFORD, NJ - Sophomore Maya Lawler was named to the NJCAA All American team as a first team member. She is the first Union women's soccer player to be named an NJCAA All American twice, earning second team recognition as a freshman in 2017.  Lawler, a defender, had 23 points this season with 10 goals and three assists.  In her freshman campaign she tallied 12 points with five goals and two assists.  Lawler, who was twice named Region XIX Player of the Year helped lead Union to a national third place finish in 2018.  Head Coach Anige Correia said about Lawler, "She has an explosive step that is hard to find in an athlete now a days."  She and her teammates compiled a 27-4-3 record over her two seasons.
