Special Honors for Michelle Guerra

On Sunday, February 3rd, Michelle Guerra was recognized by the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) as the Union County College Women of the Year recipient at Seton Hall University.  This year marks the 26th year of celebrating women and girls of New Jersey and their contributions that they have made in sports.  Girl and Women in Sports Day is a nationwide campaign which recognizes the achievements of female athletes at all levels of competition.

Each year the Woman of the Year recipient is someone who has on and off the field contributed to her college and community through athletic accomplishments, academic success, and community involvement.  Michelle Guerra, a graduating sophomore from Linden, NJ and is a two year starter and captain for the Women's Soccer team.  Michelle brings strong leadership to the team that has been ingrained in her as a member of the Army National Guard for 5 years.  Academically Michelle is also taking the lead and graduating this spring with honors and will be transferring to Rutgers Newark to earn a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.

Union County College, the Office of College Life, her coaching staff and team are very proud and motivated by her accomplishments and her will to strive for more.
