Scott's Triple-Double Leads Union Women's Basketball To Victory Over Jersey Blues

CRANFORD, NJ - In a battle of nationally ranked teams in women's basketball, the Union Owls triumphed over the Brookdale Jersey Blues 73-58.  Union and Brookdale were tied at 15 a piece after the first quarter and Union was able to take a two point lead into halftime.  The third quarter saw Union extend its lead to three points, but late in the fourth quarter is when the Owls pulled away outscoring the Jersey Blues 20-8 in the final frame to secure the win.

Sophomore Tania Scott (Newark, NJ) posted a triple-double on the evening scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.   Sophomore Jessica Woods (Linden, NJ) had a double-double of her own including 29 points and grabbing 15 boards.  Sophomore Jessica Washington (Irvington, NJ) had a big night with seven rebounds and two steals to go along with her seven points.

With the win Union improves to 12-3 overall on the season.  The Owls will next be in action after the holiday break on Tuesday, January 8 as the take on Mercer County Community College for a 5:00 pm start in the Owls Nest.
