Union Women's Basketball Tranquilizes Wolverines; Triple Double for Abreu

CRANFORD, NJ - The Union women's basketball team put away the Essex Wolverines early, reflected by the final score 100-45.

Sophomore Yamel Abreu (Elizabeth, NJ) had a triple double for the Owls including 12 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.  It was another double double afternoon, her tenth of the season, for sophomore Jessica Woods (Linden, NJ).  Woods led all scorers with 19 points and 12 rebounds.  Fellow sophomores Micaiah Battle (Scotch Plains, NJ) and Jessica Washington (Irvington, NJ) each chipped in 13 points.  Rounding out the double digit scoring was sophomore Kenu Ogbevire (Roselle, Park, NJ) who posted 11 points.  

With the win the Owls move to 11-3 on the season and take sole possession of first place.  Union takes the court next on Thursday, December 20 as they host Brookdale Community College for a 6:00 pm tipoff.
