Union Women's Basketball Knocks Off the Twelfth Ranked Bears

CRANFORD, NJ - The Union women's basketball team took down #12 ranked Harcum by a score of 57-49.  The Owls played their best game of the season from start to finish.

Sophomore Yamel Abreu (Elizabeth, NJ) and Jessica Woods (Linden, NJ) both posted a double double in the game.  Abreu scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds with five assists and four steals.  Woods added 17 points and 13 boards along with five blocked shots.  Sophomore Micaiah Battle (Scotch Plains, NJ) chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and three steals on the evening.  Sophomore Tania Scott (Newark, NJ) added eight boards, six assists and five steals.  Sophomore Destiny Shuler (Jersey City, NJ) capped off the big night with five rebounds and three assists.

The win improves Union to 7-3 overall on the season.  The Owls close out a tough week at home on Saturday, December 8 as they host #5 ranked Monroe Community College at noon.  Union looks to avenge and earlier season 64-60 loss to the Tribunes on their home turf.
