Big First Half Propels Union Women's Basketball To Victory

WEST WINDSOR, NJ - A 30 point halftime lead turned into a 40 point victory as the Union women's basketball team out played the Mercer Vikings in a 84-54 victory on the road.

The sophomore trio of Yamel Abreu (Elizabeth, NJ), Tania Scott (Newark, NJ) and Jessica Woods (Linden, NJ) led the Owls to victory.  Woods and Scott both had a double double on the evening.  Woods dropped 19 points and was a monster on the glass grabbing 20 rebounds along with 3 swats.  Scott dropped in 11 points along with 10 dishes to her teammates.  Abreau was the Owls leading scorer, once again, with 22 points.

Union women's basketball in back on the hardwood in the Owls Nest on Thursday, December 6 with a 6:00 pm tipoff.  The win improves their record to 6-3 on the season.
