The Union County College Women's Basketball team has had another successful regular season which has propelled them into the Region XIX Division II Tournament playoffs. The Lady Owls were part of a three way tie for the #1 seed position in the tournament along with Lackawanna College and Harcum College. The Region XIX Women's Basketball committee has announced the tournament seeding as the following: #4 Manor College, #3 Lackawanna College, #2 Union County College and the #1 seed will be Harcum College.
On Saturday, February 27th it will be the third time this season that Union County College will be going head to head with Lackawanna College in the Region XIX Semifinal game. The Lady Owls hosted Lackawanna on December 15th and defeated them by 11. When it was Lackawanna's turn to host they then took the home win by defeating Union by only 5 points.
Similarly as to last year, Union will be meeting up again with Lackawanna College in the playoff tournament and only one team will advance to the Region XIX Championship game. Last year Union went up against Lackawanna in the Region XIX Championship game where the Lady Owls defeated them 69-46.
The Region XIX Women's Basketball Division II Tournament will be hosted by County College of Morris in Randolph, NJ and the Lady Owl's hit the court Saturday at 12pm. the Championship game will be held on Sunday, February 28th at 1pm.
