Men's Cross Country competes in TCNJ invitational.

EWING, NJ- Paterno Sets Men's 6K School Record at Cross Country Season Opener.

The men's cross country team kicked off the season on Friday at the 6,000 meter (3.7 miles) TCNJ Invitatiional, held on the TCNJ campus in Ewing, NJ.

 

Sophomore Anthony Paterno was the Owl's top finisher, establishing a UCC 6K school record of 25:18. Paterno was followed by fellow Owls Jose Alvarez, 26:46, Ethan Hart 27:24, and Aaron McGriff, 29.29.

 

"This was a good start for us and all four guys competed admirably," said new Head Cross Country Coach Alec Moore. "I'm very optimistic about the season and have no doubt that we'll see some impressive performances and improvements in the coming weeks" he continued. "Our two primary goals right now, as a team, are to continue to build the conditioning level of the athletes and to recruit new runners for both the men's and women's teams." 

 

The Owls will be competing again on Saturday, September 21 at the 8,000 meter (5 miles) Osprey Invitational on the campus of Stockton University in Galloway, NJ.
