Jason McFall Joins the Union County College Coaching Staff

Union County College is excited to announce Jason McFall as the Head Track Coach for the inaugural men and women's track team season.  McFall has had a successful running career in addition to a successful coaching career.

 

McFall competed for Pete Squires' Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights Track & Field Program where he was a 3 Year Letter Winner and an academic/athletic scholarship athlete for Indoor/Outdoor Track.  McFall qualified for the IC4A's six times (3 indoor, 3 outdoor) in the Long Jump (finished 10th overall in 1998).  He was named the Men's Northeast Conference (Division I) Most Outstanding Performer at the 1998 Outdoor Championships. A former 2x Conference Champion in the Long Jump and 4x100 relay, he also received the FDU Men's Track and Field MVP in 1998, scoring a team high 26 points in 5 events at the Outdoor NEC Champs.

 McFall ran professionally for NIKE Internationals 1998 NYC Marathon Race team which included World Record holders Teglia Laropue, Roberto Salazar and many others.  McFall ran collegiately and trained with 2 of FDU's former Olympic standouts, Lance Gittens ('96 Guyana) and Dwight Stewart ('96 St. Vincent and the Grenadines).  In the Empire State (NY) Games Jason won 6 gold medals in the (100m, LJ, and 4x100 relay).

 McFall coached on the collegiate level at several schools including, NYU (1999-2001), Vassar College (2004), and Concordia College Cross Country (2004-2006).  From 2001-2006 Jason coached at the high school level at Woodlands High School.  To highlight just two of Jason's successful athletes that he coached are 2 All-Americans, Michael Thompson Jr. (55m & 100m, Texas A&M) and Mark Thompson (Triple Jump, University of Michigan).  McFall is also a USATF Level I certified coach.
