ELIZABETH CITY, NC - The Union men's soccer team blanked Mid Atlantic Christian University 9-0 in a 75 minute lighting shortened game.

Union led 5-0 against the Mustangs going into halftime and would score another four goals in the second half before the inclement weather forced the game to end.  Juan Bernal led all scorers with four goals while Denilson Dominique added two goals of his own.  Angel Olarte contributed 1 goal and three assists, while Jacques Fuentes and Kristyan Cordeiro chipped two assists a piece.

Goalkeepers Tiago Ferreira and Ian Flores combined on the shutout with a combined three saves in the game.   The Owls head coach Alex Louis seemed pleased with the teams performance today commenting "...we got a win under our belts and that is important for us on our first road trip.  We need to now go home and work on and tinker with some things if we plan to compete in our region."

Union improves its record to 1-0-1 on the season.  The Owls return to action on Thursday, September 5 as they travel to New York to face Rockland Community College beginning at 4:00 pm.
