Union County College Men's Soccer Team had a very 'up-and-down' regular season, but have pulled it out and have qualified for the Region XIX Tournament.
Head coach, Alex Louis, has led the Owls to an overall record of (10-8-2), a Region XIX record of (9-3-1), and a Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) record of (7-3-1).
Due to a solid record within the region, the NJCAA seeded the Union men's team 3rd on the bracket.
Getting ranked as the third seed in the upcoming Region XIX tournament is in large part due to the contributions of leading scorer, Raonne Dos Santos (Forward), who was named to the NJCAA Region XIX 1st Team. Raonne Dos Santos put in 18 goals and 8 assists through 18 games played this season.
Other big contributors this year were Yosuke Hirashiki (Defender), who was named to the NJCAA Region XIX 2nd Team, and Pedro Freitas (Midfielder), who was named to the NJCAA Region XIX 3rd Team.
The Union County Men's team have a bye in Round 1 of the Region XIX Tournament, and will play the victor of Delaware County Community College (7-6) and Bucks County Community College (10-6-1) at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, October 24 at the Berkeley Heights field.
