Men’s Lacrosse Taking Advantage Of Great Opportunities

Union County College lacrosse team has been racking up miles this season traveling to Maryland, Delaware and upstate New York in order to play games. This past weekend they made their first of two trips to upstate New York to play back to back Cayuga Community College and Niagara County Community College.

The trip started off with great success as Union defeated Cayuga 10-4.  The game started slow with Union only scoring one goal in the first half, but the team showed off their will to win by scoring 9 goals in the second half.  Large contributions for the win were from Josh Posluszny with 3 goals, Luke Diano with 2 goals and 1 assist, Darien Millard with 1 goal and 1 assist, CJ Fransisco with 3 goals and 2 assists, and Chris Breslin with 1 goal and 1 assist.  With one of their two games in the books the team started to prepare for their next game of the weekend verses Niagara.

The team seems not to be able to escape the horrible weather that the North East has been dealing with this winter and now early spring.  When the team woke up in Niagara Falls, New York they realized that their plans needed to be changed.  Niagara County Community College received six inches of snow over night and was forced to cancel the game.  The team took advantage of a great opportunity and went on a team bonding trip to see the Niagara Falls, which was the first time for majority of the team.  On their way home they made a quick stop in Syracuse, NY to enjoy lunch before they made their four hour plus ride back home.

The Owls return to their home field on Wednesday, April 2nd to host Northampton Community College for a Region XIX conference game.  The Owls are entering this game with an undefeated Region XIX record of 1-0 and are looking to maintain the number one slot for Region XIX Lacrosse.
