Union Men's Basketball Needs OT to Seal Victory

PARAMUS, NJ - It took a bit longer then the regulation time allotted for the game, but the Union men's basketball team came away with a 100-92 win in overtime against the Bulldogs.  Union was up seven at halftime, but a late attack by Bergen tied the game at 86 forcing the game into overtime.  In overtime Union turned up their defense and escape with the win.  All five starters for Union fouled out of the game.

Freshman Jared Simmons (East Orange, NJ) led the Owls in scoring with 28 points, he also pulled down 12 rebounds.  Freshman Tyheem Burno (Jersey City, NJ) added 23 points.  Sophomores Najee Plunkett (Vauxhall, NJ) and Trevon Bleasdell (Irvington, NJ) rounded out the double digit scoring with 17 points and 16 points.

The win improves Unions record to 10-15 on the season.  The Owls will travel to Rowan College at Gloucester County on Saturday, February 9 for a 12pm tip.
