Booker's Three in Final Possession Seals Win for Union Men's Basketball

CRANFORD, NJ - It was a packed house on Tuesday evening to watch the Union men's basketball team win their home opener against cross county rival Essex CC by a score of 88-86.  Essex came out strong to take a lead, but Union battled back and held the lead through much of the second half.  With 4:20 remaining in the second half Essex tied the game.  It was in Union's final possession with 12 seconds left on the clock when sophomore Derek Booker (Bayonne, NJ) hit the winning three pointer to seal the win.  

Booker paced the Owls with 27 points including seven three pointers.  Freshman Tyheem Burno (Jersey City, NJ) dropped 20 points of his own.   Sophomore Jordan Rowley (Hillside, NJ) dumped in 10 points in the win.

Union men's basketball improves to 2-1 on the season.  The Owls are next in action a week from today on Tuesday, November 13 when they travel to Passaic County CC for a 7 pm tip-off.
