Second Half Slump Sends Union Men's Basketball to Loss

WESTCHESTER NJ - A seven point lead at halftime turned into an 11 point loss for the Union men's basketball team in a 85-73 defeat to host Westchester Community College. In the second half the Owls were held to just 27 points; 26% shooting and just 8% from beyond the three point line in the defeat. 

Sophomore Jordan Rowley (Hillside, NJ) had a monster afternoon on the glass grabbing 13 rebounds.  Rowley also dumped in seven points and blocked three Viking shots.  Sophomore Nyquan McCombs (Staten Island, NY) was the leading scorer for Union with 19 points.  He also had three steals and four assists. Sophomore Trevon Bleasdell (Irvington, NJ) contributed 12 points while fellow teammate freshman Tyheem Burno (Jersey City, NJ) added 11 points.

Union men's basketball returns to action on Tuesday, November 6 for their home opener.  They will tip-off at 7:00 pm against Essex County College in an early season showdown.  Union's record falls to 1-1 on the season.
