On Thursday February 2, 2017 at Passaic County College, Union County College's Men's Basketball Player, Chinua Massena, surpassed the 1000 career point total. 'Chewy', a sophomore guard, from Montclair was honored on Saturday, Februray 4, 2017 when Union played Camden County College at home.

In addition to his scoring over 1,000 career points, he is currently leading the Division III National Junior College Athletic Association in scoring, averaging 27.1 points per game and second in the nation in 3 point shooting percentage at 57.8.
