Union Men Win Against Atlantic Cape

Union, NJ-On Saturday, December 3rd at 12 p.m., the Union Owls played the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape. While the Buccaneers went into the game with fire and strive, the Union Owls won with a score of 96-90.

After a quick timeout by Coach Jerry Henderson, the Union Owls made the adjustments going into a 3-2 zone to slow down the high powered offense of Atlantic Cape. After a back-and- forth action through the game, which saw a lot of offense, the Union Owls managed to pull out a tight victory in the end.

Chinua Massena hit 4 clutch free throws in the last 1:30 of the game to help the team hold off with a 96-90 victory. Massena led all scores with 29 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Developing Point Guard, Jevon Allen, finished with another impressive showing 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and a block. Josiah King finished with 14 points, while Brandon Villa and Nasir Akram both had 11 points and 8 rebounds apiece.

The boys are scheduled to play the Bulldogs of Bergen County College on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 7 p.m., following the Lady Owls who play ASA College at 5 p.m.
