Tuesday, February 25th, the Owls hosted Middlesex County College for the Region XIX Quarterfinals game. The athletic department held a Black-Out event in support of the men's basketball team. All Union County College students received a Black- Out Region XIX Playoff t-shirt to wear during the game. With a standing room only gymnasium the excitement was through the roof for the Owls!
The Owls set the tone for the game with back-to-back 3 pointers. Entering halftime the owls took the lead with a score of 35-30. Middlesex has proven to not be an issue for the Owls because Union closed out the game with a score of 82-67.
On Thursday, February 27th, Union County College hits the road to Brookdale Community College to play Brookdale in the NJCAA Region XIX Semifinal game. This game will be extra special for Sophomore Shaquille Mitchell who is 6 points shy of scoring 1,000 points during his two year basketball career at Union County College.
The game will start at 6pm and will be live streamed for the fans that won't be able to make it to Brookdale.
