UCC Baseball Split Doubleheader at Bucks County

NEWTOWN, PA – The Union Owls (10-19, 3-7) split the twinbill at Bucks County after taking game one 15-6, and falling in game two by a score of 10-7. 

Game 1 | Union 15, Bucks County 6

 

The Owls took down the Centurions of Bucks County in game one of the doubleheader in seven innings. The Owls offense was hot from the get-go, scoring seven runs in the opening three frames. After a quick push from Bucks County to draw the game closer, the Owls tacked on seven more insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning to seal the deal. The Owls finished with 20 hits in the rout.

 

Austin Brooks filled the stat sheet, going 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs in the victory. Christian Castro dominated from the plate, bringing in 4 RBIs on three hits. Calvin Colon and Richard Bianchi also finished the day with two RBIs a piece. 

 

Jayden Jacobs remained perfect on the mound after pitching a complete game to earn his third victory of the season.

 

Game 2 | Bucks County 10, Union 7

 

The Centurions turned the tide on game two of the doubleheader, as they jumped out to an early lead to clinch the second game in seven innings. 

The Owls were active on the base paths as Calvin Colon recorded four stolen bases in the game. Austin Brooks brought in two runs on two hits in the game. James Liburd reached base twice and stole two bases in the defeat. 

 

UCC Baseball is back in action tomorrow with a conference duel against Bergen Community College. First pitch is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. in Paramus, NJ.
