Owls Baseball Drop Both Games of Doubleheader at Camden

CAMDEN, NJ – The Union Owls (9-18, 3-7) fell to the Camden County Cougars in both of games of the doubleheader on Saturday.

Game 1 | Camden 15, Union 7

Camden jumped out to an early nine-run lead in the first two innings and that would prove to be all of the runs they would need to defeat the Owls in game one of the doubleheader. The Owls plated runs to tighten the game, but the Cougars tacked on some more insurance runs to take the game.

Carlos Marte continued to stay hot at the plate with a 3 RBI game. Richard Bianchi had three hits on the day, including two doubles. Quincy Bryant also tacked on an RBI in the setback.

Game 2 | Camden 8, Union 5

The Owls jumped out to an early three-run lead against the Cougars in game two, but could not hang on in a tough game.

Richard Bianchi picked up right where he left on in game one, adding three more hits to his day. Javier Alfonso, Calvin Colon, Patrick Connolly, Carlos Marte, and Austin Brooks all tallied an RBI in the defeat. Brooks notched a triple in the setback.

The Owls will be back in action with another doubleheader tomorrow as they head to Bucks County for two against the Centurions. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
