Baseball Drops Twinbill at Chesapeake

WYE MILLS, MD – The Union Owls fell to the Chesapeake Skipjacks in both games of the doubleheader in Maryland. The games were played after a quick turnaround from the weekend long tournament played in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over the weekend. With the losses, the Owls are now 3-6 on the season. 

Game 1 | Chesapeake 8, Union 0

 

The Skipjacks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on the Owls and did not look back. The Owls had a tough game defensively, committing five errors in the setback. Quincy Bryant and James Liburd both had multi-hit games. Liburd swiped a stolen base in the game as well.

 

Game 2 | Chesapeake 12, Union 0

 

The Owls were defeated in five innings in game two of the doubleheader. Quincy Bryant added to his hit streak with a base knock early in the game. Chesapeake scored twelve runs on just six hits in the game.

 

After a lot of baseball and travel in a short period of time, the Owls have six days off before their next matchup against Westchester Community College on Tuesday, March 19that 3:30 p.m.
