Baseball Takes Two from Manor at Home

UNION, NJ – The Union Owls baseball team completed the series sweep of Manor College following a 23-8 win in game one and a 15-5, six-inning game two victory.

 

With the wins, the Owls are now 9-14 on the season and 3-4 in conference play.

 

Game 1 | Union 23, Manor 8

 

The Owls jumped out to a 11-0 lead in the first two innings and didn't look back on their way to victory. In a game where every Owl that appeared at the plate reached base safely, Quincy Bryant and Calvin Colon notched 4 RBI each in the game. Carlos Marte led the team with three hits in the game. Jovon Portuondo picked up his first win of the season in a complete game performance on the mound.

 

Game 2 | Union 15, Manor 5

 

The Owls offense picked up right where they left off in game 1, scoring three runs in the opening on frame. Carlos Marte added 4 RBI to the hit party including a home run. Calvin Colon tallied three hits and swiped five stolen bases in win. Quincy Bryant pitched five innings of good ball to earn his first win of the season.
