Union’s Baseball Scout Day Brought Out MLB and NCAA Scouts

Hosting their 3rd Annual Scout Day, Union County College's Baseball team played against the BPI Pirates, a travel team consisting of elite high school junior and senior baseball players. The Pirates' team mainly assembled of St. Peter's Prep, Bergan Catholic, and Marist High School baseball players. This off-season game was an excellent opportunity to showcase Union's baseball talent and additionally recruit new talent for the Owls.

Observing the Union County College Owls were five Major League Baseball scouts and four NCAA scouts. New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, and Minnesota Twins were the MLB teams that were presents on Scout Day.  Representing NCAA scouts were from the following colleges; Caldwell College, Queens College, The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), and Rutgers.

Due to weather conditions, only 6 out of the 12 inning were played with a final score of 8-0 in the Owl's favor. Freshman CJ Lehman and Damien Sanchez, as well as sophomore Aaron Smith, displayed their great pitching throughout the 6 innings. Even though the game was cut short, Union County College's 3rd Annual Scout Day was a success.
