The Union County College Baseball coaching staff has been hard at work for the past few months to secure an excellent 2013-14 recruiting class. The dividends are starting pay out with two top recruits that are returning to New Jersey to play for the Owls.
James O'Rourke
James transferred to Union County College from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. Native from Westfield, NJ, James was a two sport standout athlete at Westfield High School and was named 2012 First Team All-Union County and First Team All-State in both Baseball and Football and First Team All - Area for football. He was also awarded Union County Player of the Year for Baseball. James is expected to be a vital piece of the baseball team's outfield and show off his speed and athleticism.
Angel Concepcion Jr
Angel transferred to Union County College from Doane College in Nebraska. Angel calls Elizabeth, NJ home and has played high school ball at Mt. Lakes High School. In 2012 Angel was named Third Team All-Morris County and Second Team All-League. Angel is going to be looked at to step in and be a team leader as he plays exceptional defense behind the plate.
Coach Lewis is extremely excited about bringing in these two student-athletes as the start of his first recruiting class at Union County College.
