Three Baseball Transfer Students Will Help the Owls Soar This Baseball Season

Head Baseball Coach, Jon Lewis, is excited to start the 2013 Baseball season especially with three transfer students.

Robert Pons is transferring from the Division I powerhouse Coastal Carolina University. Robert was a standout player at Roselle Catholic High School. In high school Robert was part of the Junior and Senior Legion County Championships for Union County. He also won the Counties his sophomore year with Roselle Catholic. 

Coach Lewis is also excited to have Sean McGovern join the owls this season. Sean is coming from Division II Dominican College in New York. A native of Union County, Sean played for Cranford High School where he made 3rd Team All-County. Cranford High School is a powerhouse in Union County. Sean was a large contributor in his high school team's success where they were named Union County Baseball Champions & New Jersey State Champions.

Asaad Bell will be attending Union County College this spring and will be a nice asset to the team. Assad played baseball for Bloomfield Technical High School, where he had exceptionally successful. While attending at Bloomfield, Asaad received several awards. He was named to the First Team All Vocational Conference & First Team All Super Essex Conference. He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2007 along with Co-Caption and Co-MVP for the 2010 season.

As a first year head coach for the owls, Jon Lewis has had success with the 2013 recruiting class. The Owls first home game will be on, Saturday, March 9th vs. Delaware County Community College.
