Johnson Lifts Roadrunner Women's Soccer Past Union for Third Straight Triumph!

Since a slow start against two opening opponents this Fall, the Roadrunner Women's Soccer has emerged as a premier team within Region 19 and the Garden State Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Crystal Johnson scored two goals, including one on a penalty kick, and added an assist to lead the team to an exciting 5-2 victory over host Union County, the third straight win for the team!

Additional goal scorers included Sierrra Stichler, Angelina Bluford and Maddy Bridges.

The Runners improved to 3-2 overall following opening-season losses to traditional powers Harford CC and Mercer CCC.

"We maintained our composure under high pressure," said head c oach Maria Grady. "This was a complete team win with players stepping up into new roles and accepting responsibilities. The players capitalized on the game plan that the coaching staff spelled out from the start."

The win proved to be a signature triumph over an opponent the Runners annually meet in the Region 19 playoffs.

"This was a very big win for us, and it will give us a lot of confidence moving forward," noted Coach Grady.

Up next will be a showdown vs. GSAC and Region 19 rival Brookdale Saturday at home in a 12 noon start.
