Union Escapes with Win Over Hawks

Harrisburg, PA –  The HACC Hawks men's basketball team were on the road, Thursday evening, to take on the Owls of Union College.

Both teams came out firing on all cylinders, but the hawks began to trail, as the Owls took the lead, in the first half. The Hawks would find themselves down, 25-51, at the break. The Hawks struggled to score at the start of the second half, as the Owls held the Hawks with 53 points on the board. The Hawks began to battle back with a late push from the help of Anthony Alviani and Vincent Fonticoba. Anthony Alviani stepped up rallying 17 points for the Hawks, working to close the gap. However, the Owls cruised through to the finish, ending the match with a final score of 116-53.

Anthony Alviani led the squad for the Hawks with 17 points and two assists. Vincent Fonticoba earned a double-double with 11 rebounds and 12 points. Kevin Perales was just shy of a double-double with 8 points and 9 rebounds.

 

The Hawks hit the road on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 to face the Lions of Community College of Philadelphia. Tip-off is set for 12 noon.
