Volleyball Tops Union

North Branch, NJ – RVCC's Women's Volleyball Team defeated Union College on Wednesday night by a final score of 3-0. The Lions and Owls were in a tight first set that ended with the Lions edging the Owls 25-23. The Lions would take the next two sets 25-12 and 25-15 to move to 11-2 on the season.

Kelly Delaney led the offense with 12 kills. Madison Cobb was second on the team registering 6 kills to go along with her 7 service aces. The Lions had 20 service aces on the night with Cobb and Delaney accounting for 15 of them. Cobb, a freshman from Delaware Valley Regional, also led the team with 2 solo blocks on the defensive end. Alanna Da Cunha and Reagan Mooney contributed a block assist each. Da Cunha finished with 3 kills and Mooney had 19 total assists leading the offense. Freshmen Danna Gaitan and Skylee Ohler rounded out the Lions offensive attack with 4 and 2 kills each respectively. Libero, Rachel Hatto was the only Lion with double digit digs, registering 12 on the night. Mooney and Sona Petrusova were tied for second with 5 each.

The Lions do not have a night off as they host the Panthers from BMCC Thursday night at 7 PM.
