MIDDLESEX MEN'S VOLLEYBALL MAKES HISTORY WITH PROGRAM'S FIRST WIN

History was made in the Middlesex College athletics department as the Men's Volleyball team picked up the first win in program history, topping GSAC foe Union College 3-0 at the Monroe College season-opening invitational.

The Colts dropped their first three matches to Monroe, Finger Lakes CC and College of DuPage before topping the Union Owls in three straight.

This is the first year for intercollegiate Men's Volleyball on the NJCAA level. Middlesex competed in an abbreviated schedule last season.

Against Union, Myia Williams' squad took the first set 25-18 and then outlasted the Owls in an exciting and pivotal second set, 27-25. The Colts wrapped up the sweep with a 25-16 win in the third.

Leading the way for Middlesex was Michael Nycz (Sophomore/Woodbridge, NJ) who had 13 kills. Tyler Ryan (Sophomore/Port Reading, NJ) added nine kills of his own.

Deivy Perez (Sophomore/Perth Amboy, NJ) led Middlesex with 26 assists and Ryan paced the Colts with 18 digs.
