Skylanders Defeat Union on the Road

The Sussex Men's Basketball team emerged victorious at Union County College by a score of 84-77. The Skylanders worked hard on the glass and attacked the paint to get Union in early foul trouble, allowing them to extend their lead to as much as 13 in the first half. However, Union went on a big 12-0 run in the final minutes, and Sussex went into halftime with a 37-34 lead.

After back and forth possessions for the first few minutes of the second half, Union took their only lead of the game 45-44 with 15:40 remaining. Annario Ware immediately answered with a drive and layup, and a little Skylander run gave them a 66-60 lead by the 9-minute mark. A few clutch threes by Shawn Morgan stopped Union momentum, which allowed Sussex to maintain their lead until the final buzzer.

Sussex point guard Shawn Morgan was key in the win - finishing with 15 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Brandon Yale tossed in a team-high 22 points, along with Annario Ware's 19 points and 6 rebounds. Captain Jayden Battle worked hard in the paint and scored 15 points.
