The Middlesex College won their first two sets of the season, but they fell just short in the overall match as Union College topped the Colts 3-2 in a GSAC matchup at Union.
The Colts (0-2) dropped the first set, 25-14, but bounced back to win an exciting second set, 25-23 to even the match.
After falling in the third set, 25-12, the Colts once again rallied to top the Owls (2-1) in another close set, taking the fourth 26-24.
The Owls broke out early in the deciding fifth set though and cruised to a 15-4 victory to take the match.
Middlesex is back in action on Monday when they host RCSJ-Gloucester in a home match set to tipoff at 6:00PM.
