12 Student-Athletes Named to the NJCAA All-Academic Team

The College Life department at Union County College has been uttering the importance for each student-athlete to commit academically and athletically to ensure success of each athlete. The 2016-17 academic year was triumphant with naming 12 athletes onto the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Team.  To be named on the All-Academic Team the athlete must have a GPA of 3.60+.

All aspects of the athletic program circulate back to the concept that commitment in the classroom is the most important aspect for their future.  "Graduation, graduation, graduation" is the mantra that all College Life administrators continuously express to the student-athletes!

College Life works closely with other departments throughout the college to ensure success of the student-athletes. All athletes are required to take a minimum of 15 credits per semester to guarantee graduation within a 2 year period.  Tutoring hours must also be completed weekly in and out of season at the college's Academic Learning Center.

Back in February, the College Life office honored 52 student-athletes for being named onto the All-Academic teams for the Garden State Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region XIX.
