The mission of this event is to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Federal Law Title IX through remembrance, education and to acknowledge female athletes of Union County.

Throughout the night there will be guest speakers, picture slideshows, videos and some memorabilia of Title IX. This is a wonderful time to come out with your mother or daughter to share in the celebrations!
TITLE IX EVENT GUEST SPEAKERS
Linda Carter, Chair of the Union County Freeholders will host the event and honor the young female athletes of Union County.
Carol “Blaze” Blazejowski is an alumna of Cranford High School and Montclair University. Ms. Blazejowski is considered to be one of the most influential trailblazers for women’s basketball and Title IX. Her tenure at Montclair was impressive with being named All-American three times along with being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Post college she was captain of the U.S. women’s Olympic basketball team and later inducted into the National Basketball Hall of Fame. Ms. Blazejowski also spent 14 years as president and general manager of WNBA’s New York Liberty.
Dr. Lilyan Wright is a former professor, administrator, coach and founder of a number of women’s athletics programs at TCNJ. She is a pioneer in the field of women’s intercollegiate sports. Her advocacy of women’s rights in education and athletics was a major influence in the success of the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act.
Following the event will be a reception
consisting of light food, beverages and Title IX memorabilia.
