Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy

Thursday, November 8th the Women’s Basketball team traveled to Bethlehem, PA to scrimmage Moravian College Greyhounds.  The night was prosperous in many ways for Union County College.  The Lady Owls continued on their winning streak for this season’s scrimmages by defeating Moravian.  A slow start didn’t stop the veterans of the team to pull together to leave with another win.

After the conclusion of the scrimmage, the Greyhounds presented the Lady Owls with many supplies for the victims in New Jersey from Hurricane Sandy.  The Moravian College Athletic Department took the time out of their busy days to recognize the destruction that hit New Jersey within the past days.  The scrimmage with Union County College was the perfect time for Moravian to collect many desperately needed supplies for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  Mary Beth Spik, head coach of the Moravian Women's Basketball team, organized an Athletic Department wide collection of Hurricane Sandy supplies.

The Union County College Athletic Department and athletes will be delivering these supplies to some of the hardest hit areas from Hurricane Sandy.
